If the definition of a truly custom website is for users to customize their iPhone and iPad cases with uploaded personal images, then the Uncommon site is it. This unique site and product line challenged Uncommon and ZaneRay to be innovative, create some new sophisticated tools, all while integrating to a new back end OMS and proprietary printing system.
Users can choose from several ready designed cases or can upload their own images to print on these amazingly tough, unique cases. Using the image 'configurator', users can not only upload their images but can manipulate them to print the exact zoom and image angle they want.
Uncommon had very unique requirements for their user interface but also needed the ability to add new cases as new devices were released with different form factors. Leveraging the zProduct and zArticle tools, ZaneRay gave Uncommon a great deal of control of their site content, while keeping the site product offering flexible and diverse.
This site is a good example of complex integrations to several 3rd party systems. ZaneRay was able to program where some of these integrations required us to build the entire API from the ground up. Understanding these complex systems and how they needed to work with the site was a strength that ZaneRay was able to provide to Uncommon and their new website.
The Uncommon site is a collaborative effort between Uncommon, Grip Design and ZaneRay.
