ZaneRay built the Sea to Summit web site with Shopify

If you are a backpacker, camping enthusiast, paddler or simply an adventure traveller, you have probably come across Sea to Summit products. Passionately and meticulously designed, Sea to Summit products are unmatched in their practical functionality. Whether it be river booties, a sleep system designed for women, a ultra light hammock, or a set of highly versatile camp kitchen pans, Sea to Summit has the details dialed in every product and accessory they produce.

Sea to Summit USA is the US and Canadian distributor of the Australian based company and as such, has their own digital channel for presenting the brand and selling their products in these regions. Stepping into direct to consumer sales, the new Sea to Summit website provides consumers a detailed look at every product, technical specifications, videos and customer reviews designed to educate the consumer at every turn.

The site was built on the Shopify platform which allowed ZaneRay to quickly develop the site, employing a base theme that best accommodated the brand vision and needs for versatility and flexibility for an array of different product types. The site is integrated to their ERP system for full alignment on inventory and customer orders, replacing a largely manual process with their previous site that offered direct sales to the Sea to Summit pro only customer.

Through a custom application developed by ZaneRay, the new site accommodates both pro and consumer customers, employing an automated pro application process that has helped Sea to Summit to reduce the time to run their previously manual program. Another custom feature presents the consumer with a direct product link to partner online retailers that have the item in stock, allowing the customer to purchase from a partner website if desired. Sea to Summit also works with Locally to include local retailers that carry Sea to Summit products, based upon an IP detection of where the customer is located. All of these options are designed to give the Sea to Summit customer a personalized experience and choice for how they want to purchase their products.

Sea to Summit has also made a commitment to incorporate more educational content for their customers. This includes "how to" articles that provide tips on preparing for a paddling tour or how to mitigate moisture condensation when camping.
