The Patagonia site is a full-on, high volume, complex e-commerce effort. The current site is a 3rd generation effort that is actually several sites in one. Pro.patagonia.com serving Patagonia professional customers, jp.patagonia.com serving Japan and eu.patagonia.com serving Europe. The site is available in 5 languages: English, Japanese, German, Italian and French, with additional languages planned for the future. patagonia.com supports multiple currencies and each site has content and product lines specific to the customer base.
A testament to the platform, the site continues to evolve with added features like the new Kit Builder, the Footprint Chronicles, Product Compare and a first for eBay, the Used Clothing & Gear section that is powered by eBay but contained within the Patagonia site. The site content and features reflect Patagonia's commitment to quality technical clothing and also to the environment.
Collaborating with Patagonia, ZaneRay designed and developed the Kit Builder (see inset graphic). This custom configurator provides a one-of-a-kind, educational shopping experience, where users learn about proper layering and build personal layering kits around their own technical and aesthetic needs. Catering to the growing tablet market, the tool is touch-optimized. Ajax layers for product displays, combined with a visual shopping bag holster and large page views places Patagonia in the forefront of original shopping experiences. ZaneRay continues to play the lead technical role along with providing user interface and design expertise for the site with the site employing ZaneRay's ZCommerce ZFoundation tools and technology.
