ZaneRay is delighted to announce the launch of the new Harmons Grocery web site. Harmons recently celebrated 75 years of successful business as a neighborhood grocer in Utah. Stemming from hard work and family values, Harmons has always remained true to its roots as a personable, local, full-service grocer. Dedication to both its personnel and the local communities they serve has helped establish their reputation for emphasizing the human side of business. Commitment to freshness, selling locally farmed products and offering services such as pharmacy and floral departments, Harmons offers value that extends far beyond ‘price.’

Harmons came to ZaneRay with some specific goals for their website. They wanted to present a fresh, more progressive web presence consistent with current branding styles and imagery used in other mediums as well as exude the message that Harmons is something special--a company built on the tenets of quality, value and service, driven by passionate people (your neighbors). Within the site, Harmons wanted to bring all departments of Harmons Grocery under one consistent ‘roof’ while offering a clean, intuitive and consistent user interface with thoughtful site architecture and navigation. Other specific goals were to compel users to visit the site with regularity by providing unique functionality for web users such as online coupons, downloadable recipes with shopping lists, online floral department and pharmacy services. They also wanted to improve content management and save money with their new efficiencies such as the online floral service as well as online registration for culinary classes. Harmons also wanted to use the site as a tool to recruit new employees as well as make the existing employees proud of their employer and provide another tool to communicate a positive work experience. Of course an important goal of Harmons is to gain new customers and increase site traffic by harnessing the use of social media trends, optimizing the site for enhanced search visibility and ranking as well as becoming a regional resource for products and specific services.

The next generation Web site design for Harmons hosts a wide variety of improvements, but most notably is new, cleaner, opened-up and design-driven user interface. The site offers an uncluttered, departmentalized architecture, conducive to finding information, pursuing services (floral/pharmacy/classes/employment), and interacting with great ease. Larger monitor sizes have also allowed for wider screen real estate, creating more breathing room, promoting a better viewing area. The sites serves as a ‘go to’ site for the Harmons customer—both as a means to stay informed and educated on the many aspects of Harmons, but also the most time-sensitive information, like current sales and what produce just arrived. Site users will take advantage of the conveniences the site offers with online ordering and registration as well as the exclusive promotions and resources. The goal of the site design and user interface is to facilitate these consumer behaviors in the most effective manner, while presenting the brand authentically. The ZaneRay design process,helped pave a path of discovery, design and development to fulfill the Harmons goal.
