Zane Ray Group, Whitefish, Montana

We're looking for someone who has hands-on experience with complex e-commerce development using Java and/or other OOP languages. The ideal candidate has put their name on at least a few thousand lines of code, can make a compiler grunt, and has seen enough traffic to know the difference between an 'oops' and an 'oh my holy crap'.

ZaneRay is a mini monster in complex ecommerce development. We have made our home Northwest Montana, living along side Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, deer, elk, eagles and a few thousand grizzly bears. When not writing code, we spend our time skiing, rafting, hiking, camping and fly fishing. Simply put: it is a great place to live and raise a family.

We offer competitive compensation, health, dental, vacation, retirement, etc.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has good analytical skills, preferably honed in corporate information systems and/or consultancy environments.
  • Has 2+ years experience in complex Ecommerce development
  • Has 2+ years of hands-on Java and OOP experience
  • Has good relational database SQL and data modeling skills
  • Is familiar with the big picture of N-tier Ecommerce development dealing with varying developers, software, networks, hardware, servers, protocols, etc.
  • Knows how to work as a team member, and ideally has demonstrated technical team leadership skills.
  • Thinks entrepreneurially
  • Has solid verbal and written communications skills.
  • Has a bachelors degree or other formal education/training in a related field.
  • Has a sense of adventure, likes to laugh, and can cast a fly rod in running water.

Example duties may include:

  • Working on all aspects of developing a B2B or B2C ecommerce site, anything from plugging data into a product page, to programming a credit card system, to connecting a third party review engine.
  • Coordinating development and release of complex software modules, in harmony with core software releases.
  • Brainstorming how to create and take advantage of new opportunities, and often thinking how new tools might talk to legacy systems.
  • Working with small teams of programmers, designers, interface developers and project managers on multiple projects.

Principals only, no agencies please.
